Leslie Spohr, PT

Hike Leslie, a Kamloops native, graduated from the University of Alberta in 2008 with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy and recently relocated to the Summerland/Penticton area this fall.  She completed her Level II certification in manual therapy through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in 2009, and in 2010 she completed her certificate of acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. She pursued further manual therapy education in Portugal attaining a Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy through Manual Concept in 2012 as well as completing a variety of other orthopaedic courses through the Robin McKenzie Institute of Canada, Mulligan Concepts and Evidence in Motion.  In 2013, Leslie became certified in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation--a technique used for the treatment of neuromuscular pain syndromes and neuropathic dysfunction in the peripheral nervous system.  That same year she was also trained in Women's Health and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and is certified to treat symptoms of incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain.

Outside of physiotherapy, Leslie has spent many years playing high-level soccer, cross-country skiing, practicing yoga, and training for a variety of races including half marathons, triathlons and her first half-ironman this past June (which she claims she will never do again).  Truth be told, these days she would rather spend her time watching her husband and Australian Shepherd do all the running!
Leslie has experience treating a variety of conditions related to sport, motor vehicle accidents, work injuries, chronic pain, long term conditions and symptoms related to pelvic floor dysfunction.  She looks forward to helping you get back to an active and healthy life.
