Dr. Randy Cleveland grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan. He obtained a diploma in X-ray technology, before completing an undergraduate degree in Anatomy & Physiology, and post graduate education and re-search in neurobiology. He graduated with a medical degree at The University of Saskatchewan in 1988. He continued his medical education, and completed a diploma in Anaesthesia.

He moved to the Interior of B.C. in 1990, to practice full spectrum Family Medicine. After 7 years , he gave up Family Medicine, and began practicing Anaesthesia exclusively for surgical procedures and for pain management. He was Head of the Department of Anaesthesia at SLGH in Salmon Arm, for the next 15 years. As an extension of his anaesthetic practice he developed a keen interest in Interventional procedures in acute and chronic pain medicine. He has over 20 years' experience in various techniques and modalities.

Both Randy and his wife Fiona are interested in volunteer medicine in 3rd world counties. More recently, they travelled to Guatemala with Medicos en Accion, as part of a surgical team, working in the rural city of Patzun. They both enjoy travel, hiking, biking, skiing and swimming, and welcoming family and friends to their Naramata home.
